Here are some of most amazing and most beautiful galaxy images captured by telescopes from the Earth.
The image of two merging galaxies consists of red infrared data from the Spitzer Space Telescope and blue/green visible data from the Hubble. Scientists believe that the two galaxies met about 40 million years ago.
Cassiopeia A is the residue of a star that died in a supernova explosion more than 300 years ago. This photo is combination of three different image types from the Hubble, Spitzer and Chandra X-ray Observatory.
This is the most recent supernova in our galaxy.
About 100 million years ago, a smaller galaxy plunged through the middle of the Cartwheel galaxy, seen here in the right top corner. Scientists have not identified which of the two smaller galaxies seen in the left bottom corner was involved in the collision.
Messier 104 known as the Sombrero Galaxy, is one of the most popular sights in the universe.
This image is combination of Spitzer and Hubble space telescopes photos. Sombrero Galaxy is 28 million light-years away from Earth.
M81 Galaxy is also known as Bode's Galaxy. It is one of the brightest galaxies that can be seen from Earth. By it's structure, it is very similar to our galaxy, Milky Way. Foto by: NASA.gov
