Group of scientists revealed a mass grave located in Mexico which is believed that may hold the remains of the Aztec warriors who died in fight with conquistadors.

At least 49 skeletons were found in ruined pyramid near Mexico City.

Pyramid is ruined by Spanish conquistadors lead by Hernan Cortez in 1521. It is located in Tlatelolco square.

It is believed that this was site of last Indian resistance to Spanish conquistadors.

Scientists said that bodies were buried in a very unusual way.
They are surprised by the careful burial of Aztec warriors because it was unlikely to Spaniards to bother themselves with careful burial of their enemies and Indians would rather cremate them.

"We were completely taken by surprise. We didn't expect to find this massive funeral complex," Salvador Guilliem, of the government's archaeology institute, said.

Many Aztec warriors died resisting the Spaniard invaders and millions also perished during a four-year epidemic of hemorrhagic fever that began in 1545, killing 80 per cent of indigenous Mexicans.
